Why buy this home?

Rarely does the opportunity come up to purchase a beautifully renovated home in one of the original villages that makes up Milton Keynes.

The current owners have redesigned the original layout to better suit modern living. "We didn't feel like the house flowed very well so we changed where you enter the living room to create a new cosy corner for the sofa". Now, as you enter the living room from the entrance hall, you get stunning views of the unobstructed green space directly opposite the house.

The living room itself is breath-taking due to the quality of the finish and the vaulted ceiling. "We installed Velux windows which allow light to absolutely flood in. We wanted a bright and airy room because, with the view we have, you want to feel connected to the outside as much as possible". Two floor-to-ceiling windows sit either side of the patio doors ensuring that you can get a glimpse of the outside from any angle.

The patio doors lead to the courtyard garden which is raised from the road and offers spectacular views of the surrounding area and architecture. "We wanted something low maintenance so we could simply enjoy this space in the summer. The Race For Life comes right passed us so it's great to be able to sit and cheer everyone on!". It is an ideal spot to enjoy a BBQ in the summer, or even a morning cup of coffee.

The kitchen has white high-gloss units and dark composite worktops. It was re-fitted in 2018 and a number of changes made to maximise storage space. The washing machine as an example was moved to a utility cupboard in the entrance hall which not only means one more useable cupboard, but also that there is less noise in the living room when in use.

Downstairs there is also a good size double bedroom with an alcove for a wardrobe. "We use this as our guest bedroom for when family stay over. It's nice that they get their own space and privacy, and they also get their own bathroom". The family bathroom is next to the bedroom and has a power shower over the bath. "Having two proper bathrooms is brilliant as it means we can both get ready at the same time which saves arguments!".

Undoubtedly the stand-out feature of this stunning home is the floating staircase and glass bannister that sweeps up to the galleried landing. From here you get even better views through the Velux windows of the surrounding countryside.

The first room off the landing is the shower room that has light sensors meaning the lights automatically turn on when you walk in. "As we had a bathroom downstairs already, we wanted a shower room as it's so much more convenient for our busy lifestyle". An Aqualisa shower was installed to ensure the water is at perfect temperature before you get in. The boiler cupboard is also found in the shower room, and the boiler was replaced in 2018.

Lastly, the master bedroom sits at the end of the landing and is wide enough to comfortable fit a super king bed. "We were thinking of making two bedrooms upstairs but in the end we opted for one large bedroom". In our opinion they made the right decision as this charming room has plenty of space but still feels cosy. A handy walk-in wardrobe frees up even more floor space in the bedroom leaving plenty of room to get ready.

"We bought in Woolstone because we've never lived in a highly developed area before and wanted to have green spaces around us. It's so central but is such a lovely area that we are already struggling to find somewhere with the same amount of space! The village atmosphere is amazing from the newsletter that comes out to update on local events, to the lovely lady down the road that sells jam! There is also a small family run newsagents opposite which is great to pick up the morning newspaper."

*Please note that a new EPC has been conducted and will be updated once received, so the current EPC is not an accurate reflection of the property due to upgrades*

More about the location...

Great Woolstone and Little Woolstone are two historic villages in modern Milton Keynes. The area is now collectively known simply as "Woolstone" or "The Woolstones" and it forms part of the Campbell Park Civil Parish of Milton Keynes and comes under the control of Campbell Park Parish Council. The land between the two villages is now occupied by the village cricket green. They are both linear villages, being hemmed in by and along the north-south line of both the River Ouzel (to the east of the villages) and of the Grand Union Canal to the west. They form part of a chain of three villages along this line, the next about a mile further south being Woughton-on-the-Green.

Today, Great Woolstone still has its own village pub, the thatched roof "Cross Keys", which can trace its history back to 1560. Little Woolstone is the larger of the two Woolstones, having benefited from the building of the canal. Its village pub, "The Barge Inn", dates from this time, being opened to meet the needs of the canal labourers, but is now mainly a restaurant.
