Why buy this house?
Recently redecorated and improved, this lovely family home offers flexible living in one of Milton Keynes' most sought after locations.
The central entrance hall, with WC, has laminate flooring which is ideal for months where we have poorer weather. A separate living room is off the entrance hall and boasts a feature fireplace. Large windows allow lots of natural light to flood in, making this a bright and airy room.
Double doors lead through to the dining room which has been extended to create a much more useable room. Due to the size of this room, it could easily be used as a family room, playroom or even home office. French doors lead to the rear garden which isn't overlooked due to a bungalow behind. Being south-facing makes it a sun-trap, ideal for children with parents who like to worship the sun at weekends!
The kitchen has also been extended to create a large space with ample worksurfaces for preparing food. There is an area large enough to install a breakfast bar should you wish. A door leads to the integral garage which has light and power, so perfect for a box freezer should you need one.
Upstairs is home to four bedrooms including the master, which is not only a good size but a great shape. The second bedroom has built in wardrobes which have both hanging space and also drawers meaning only a double bed is needed in the room.
The third bedroom is above the garage and also has its own shower and sink. A double bed can fit under the window with another wall available for a small wardrobe, so it would make a good space for a teenager who wants their own bathroom. The family bathroom is fully tiled and has a window and heated towel rail. Lastly, the fourth bedroom is a 'box room'; very typical of properties built in this era. It would made an ideal nursey or home office/study.
There is ample off-road parking at the front of the house, and there are also solar panels on the roof.
*Please note this property has been virtually furnished*
More about the location...
Stony Stratford is a constituent town of Milton Keynes. Historically it was a market town on the important route from London to Chester.
Stony Stratford was the location where, in 1290, an Eleanor cross was built in memory of the recently-deceased Queen Eleanor of Castile, as her funeral cortège had stopped overnight in the town en route to London.
The former Rose and Crown Inn at Stony Stratford was reputedly where, in 1483, the boy-king Edward V stayed the night before he was taken to London (to become one of the Princes in the Tower) by his uncle Richard, Duke of Gloucester, who soon became King Richard III. Edward had been returning from Ludlow Castle in the Welsh Marches to London to claim his crown on the death of his father, Edward IV, when he was met in Stony Stratford by his uncle, who later deposed him
Due to the juxtaposition of two hotels in the centre of town, The Cock and The Bull, (both originally coaching inns) on the main London to Chester and North Wales turnpike), it is claimed locally that the common phrase a cock and bull story originated here.
Today Stony Stratford is a busy market town. Its pubs, restaurants and specialist shops attract tourists. In early June, Folk on the Green, a free festival of folk music, folk rock and eclectic taste takes over Horsefair Green.
